Norman Street Primary School

Norman Street Primary School is a place where all children are encouraged to learn and develop in a safe, caring and positive environment.
The original school was built in 1908, as can be seen from some of its original features. An extension was built in 1999 to accommodate the growing number of pupils, and we have recently extended our classrooms further by creating an extra classroom extension in 2012 and a new portakabin classroom has been added this academic year to enhance the learning environment.
We provide a safe, secure and happy environment to ensure that your child will quickly settle and develop as an individual within our learning community. We have a highly skilled and experienced team who are committed to ensuring the highest standards of education and pastoral care. Teachers work well together to plan and deliver a curriculum that engages all pupils in learning. The teachers are supported by a dedicated team of support staff, who help us to ensure that the needs of each individual pupil are met.
Our school vision states, Norman Street Primary is a school full of pupils, staff, parents and other members of our community who are independent learners, working together to become global citizens, understanding the process of learning, thinking and decision-making and who have universal values; a learning community that sees pupils as “fires to be kindled”, not just “vessels to be filled”.
