John Ruskin School
John Ruskin School is a school, a family and a community. Because we are a small school, with less than 200 students every individual is known and appreciated for what they contribute to the life of the school, both inside and outside the class room. There is a real ‘family feel’ to the school community where students and staff look after each other.
This rural school in the heart of the community offers a unique educational experience in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The setting provides not only stunning views but also a wealth of opportunity for a range of activities. From the annual Fell Race and Expedition to poetry writing inspired by Wordsworth at Dove cottage, we seek out every opportunity to engender a respect and love of our environment.
