Mindfulness for depression and anxiety course (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy)
MBCT incorporates mindfulness with exercises inspired by cognitive therapy, to show how thoughts and emotions interact to cause depressive episodes. MBCT helps participants to identify the thoughts and feelings which may lead to depression, and to exercise choice about how to react to them skilfully to prevent future depressive episodes arising.
Research has shown that people who have experienced 3 or more episodes of depression are between 50% and 67% less likely to relapse following participation in an MBCT programme. However, MBCT can be helpful even after one depressive or anxious episode in helping you to avoid future depression, and to increase your every-day enjoyment of life.
