Northside Primary School
Northside Primary School is a wonderful, caring establishment situated in a Victorian building on the outskirts of Workington and in the community of Northside. Our motto is 'The small school with the big smile'. Our aim is for every one of our children to be safe and happy, enjoy learning, and be supported to achieve their very best.
At Northside Primary School we offer a challenging, enriching education in a supportive, warm, friendly environment. We are proud of the school's role at the heart of the community and we work together with parents to ensure that our children are prepared for the future, meeting their potential and equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed at whatever they choose to do.
The school grounds include a reasonable sized grassed playing field, three playground areas and a quiet learning garden with raised flower beds. We are fortunate to be next to the protected nature reserve 'Siddick Pond', with an abundance of fabulous wildlife.
The school has its own kitchen where delicious food is freshly cooked on the premises each day by our excellent cooks. We also have a reasonable sized hall where children eat lunch, have PE lessons and take part in assemblies each day.
We are a small school with 70 pupils on roll, spread between Nursery children to Year 6. Currently we have 4 mixed age classes, although sometimes children work in other groupings, and as a result pupils will get to know all of our staff throughout the year.

Our Local Offer describes the range of provision and support that is available for helping identified children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND). Northside Primary School is an inclusive environment. Your child will have the same opportunities as any other child to access and experience all school has to offer.
We have set out our school’s offer in the form of questions to help aid understanding. Families of children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) or parents who have any worries or concerns about their child’s development may use this as a way of seeking appropriate help/support from school.
