Ramsden Infant School Nursery Class

We welcome all new nursery children and their families into our nursery setting where we aim to achieve an ethos of learning through play. We value the partnership between children and their families and nursery staff and try to regularly include activity days where parents/carers are invited to join in the fun. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which is incorporated through our daily routines and a variety of activities such as outdoor play, creative activities, role play, construction, baking, P.E., ring games and small world play.

We aim to encourage and develop social skills such as sharing, taking turns and consideration for others whilst fostering confidence, independence and imagination. The wellbeing of each individual child is of upmost importance and we look forward to getting to know them and helping them enjoy nursery life, building happy memories of their time with us and developing an enthusiasm for lifelong learning.

Children with Special Educational Needs are identified through our planning and assessment. If your child is found to have any special educational needs, we will provide all the help and support we can. This will mainly be done in the classroom either as part of a small group or individually where appropriate. If staff feel it is necessary, outside specialists (the Speech Therapist for example) maybe asked to help support your child. We will keep you informed at all stages. If you have any concerns or queries, don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the Head teacher (who is the Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
