SAFA Cumbria - Self-Harm Awareness For All

SAFA is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of individuals who self harm and to those who support them.  Our primary goal is to empower the individual to take responsibility for their own lives by offering counselling and trusting support.

Self harm is defined as any behaviour that causes harm to the self, and includes all self injury behaviours, eating disorders, substance misuse, extreme risky behaviours, and others behaviours such as overdosing, overworking, over or under exercising, and worry excessively, to name a few.

Also we seek to eliminate the stigma and discrimination associated with self harm by creating greater awareness through training and education.

This is a Life Matters service offering people opportunities for living well.
