Petteril Bank School Nursery Class

Our aim is to provide children with an excellent education within a caring environment.  We feel it is important for children to be nurtured to enable all children to grow to understand their responsibilities in society and respect other people in society.  We provide a stimulating curriculum with a clear emphasis on key skills to enable all children to develop firm foundations for future learning opportunities.

In Foundation Stage your child will be designated a key worker. Alongside the class teacher your children will work with their key worker on a weekly basis and develop a close relationship with them. Your child's key worker will always be available to speak to you and we welcome your comments. Your child's key worker will be displayed on the board outside the Foundation Stage class.

The children in Derwent class will bring home a piece of homework each Friday which will support their learning in class. They also have the opportunity to bring home a library book each day.  A selection of appropriate books will be available each morning for the children to independently choose from. The older Nursery children may also bring home a number or sound tree to develop their number and letter recognition.
