The new Active Lives survey looks at data from the academic year 2017-18. The results from Sport England show that 44% of school aged children are active in Cumbria which means they are taking part in sport and physical activity, on average for more than 60 minutes a day.
They also show that 18.9% of Cumbrian children are meeting the Chief Medical Officers recommendations of more than 60 minutes of activity a day, every day of the week compared to 17.5% nationally.
The survey results consider activity happening inside and outside of school and how well children are meeting the Chief Medical Officers recommendations on Physical Activity. Figures are broken down into school year and district.
