Childcare Sufficiency Report
The Childcare Act 2006 places a duty on local authorities to ensure, that provision of childcare is sufficient to meet the needs of parents in their area, in order for them to work or undertake education or training. Cumbria's Childcare Sufficiency report considers all the factors that influence the demand and supply of childcare throughout the county. It analyses any current and future gaps in provision, making recommendations to meet demand.

A Childcare Sufficiency Assessment is an assessment of existing childcare provision in the borough, mapping supply of, demand for and gaps in the childcare market.
Sufficiency has to do with the amount of information required to provide upport for the contents of the evaluation report,
