Bus Passes/Concessionary Travel

OLDER PERSON'S AND DISABLED PERSON'S BUS PASSES

The English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) provides free travel on bus services for people of pensionable age and people with disabilities.

WHEN: These passes allow free bus travel between 9.30am and 11.00pm, Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays,

WHERE: throughout Cumbria and anywhere in England, on local bus services.

HOW TO APPLY: simply visit your nearest main library (Barrow, Carlisle, Kendal, Penrith, Whitehaven or Workington), or the Local Links in Alston or Kirkby Stephen, or Ulverston Coronation Hall. The library staff will complete the application for you and take your photo.  Your Pass will be sent to your home address.  

SPECIAL CUMBRIAN SCHEMES:

- Companion Pass: if you are Disabled and need a companion with you to be able to travel on buses;

- 24/7 Pass: if you are Disabled and need to travel by bus before 9.30am to reach work (including unpaid), training or day-care services.

JUST ASK about these special passes when you visit one of the libraries or Local Links listed.
