Oaklea Trust- R2W- Day Opportunities/Work Placements

Right2Work (R2W), a community interest company, was established in 2011 by Cumbrian based charity The Oaklea Trust.

Right2Work is a Cumbria County Council authorised provider of Day Opportunities.

Dedicated to supporting people with a disability or who are disadvantaged to lead a more independent life through learning and employment outcomes.

We offer placements at The Furniture Warehouse in Kendal and The Appleby Hub in the Eden valley (hospitality/catering). There are also opportunities through our property & grounds maintenance project, Community Works (gain qualifications)

Business elements include the collection and recycling of unwanted furniture from residents throughout Cumbria. With a clear focus on recycling, reusing and by directing waste away from landfill we are doing our bit for a cleaner, greener planet.

Donated items of furniture and white goods are collected from local households and are repaired or refurbished and sold in our Furniture Warehouse shop.

People who attend are encouraged to build on skills that can support them towards greater independence.

Other vocational sectors are on offer including catering/cafe, customer service and administrationOur R2W 'Work & Learn' team can also advise on employment, training and placements across Cumbria (such as Supported Internships through local FE Colleges)
