St Catherine's Catholic Primary School
St Catherine's Primary School is a Catholic Voluntary Aided School for children of 4 to 11 years of age. The school, next to the church in Drovers Lane, has flourished for over a hundred years. Included in the school are four classrooms, a large hall, an ICT suite, a Key Stage 1 library, Key Stage 2 library, Key Stage 2 Maths room and kitchen facilities. We have our own large playing field, secure playground, wildlife areas and fully functioning allotment!
The Catholic faith of the parish inspired the building of the school in the 1870s and continues to be a major part of its daily life and learning. We use the teachings of the Catholic Faith as the basis for our curriculum but it is not a requirement that you be Catholic to attend our school; at present we are approximately 60% Catholic. We also have a number of non-Catholic Staff which helps us to be truly inclusive in our approach to RE and teaching skills for life.
Happy pupils enjoy learning. They are cared for exceptionally well. Teaching is always good and some is outstanding. Classrooms buzz with excitement because teachers make learning fun.
