Sailability - Blackwell Sailing
Around the world sailability operates under different names. Sailability organisations are not-for-profit, volunteer-based, and through the activity of sailing enriches the lives of people of all abilities - the elderly, the financially and socially disadvantaged as well as people with physcial challenges.
Blackwell Sailing is available to people in Cumbria, young or old who have a disability. We do not charge, though as we rely entirely on volunteers, grant funding and voluntary donations we suggest you might make a small contribution per session.
We have many groups and some individuals who make the most of what we have to offer at Blackwell. Not only is it a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, it is also a great place to make new friends.
The groups who currently come sailing are: Beaumont College, Barrow; Beaumont College, Carlisle (both run by SCOPE); Whinfell School, Kendal; Day service groups from Barrow, Kendal, Wigton and Penrith. The Vital Group (from South Lakes Sight Advice).
