Richard Rose Central Academy
Richard Rose Central Academy is continuing on its journey of improvement, and is delighted to now be a part of the United Learning family of schools from the 1st September 2014. The transition to a new sponsor has provided the Academy with a distinctive and strong ethos in which we empower every member of the academy community to demonstrate “The best in everyone”.
Our expectations are very high for all of the students in the academy and we are pleased to have a community with a full range of abilities and a great team to support them. We make sure that we enable students to make progress at all times in their academic subjects and in many other areas of academy life.
Our examination results are improving and we are using all of the available strategies to ensure our students get the best outcomes based on their own level of ability. We are highly committed to ensuring that all students can engage in other activities which will enable them to develop skills and qualities.
Our sports teams, Dance and Music groups, support for charities, national and international trips all generate a sense of achievement. We are really proud of our students who are committed to hard work and positive behaviour. We believe that that these two ingredients are vital for academic success.
Since opening we have undergone great changes but throughout the changes we have maintained traditional values whilst still looking ahead to be innovative and forward looking.
Our aims are very clear. They are encapsulated in three statements.
We seek to ensure that all members of our community do their best at all times.
We insist on continuous progress without excuses. We shall never be complacent.
We expect our students to become outstanding citizens, outstanding parents, outstanding partners and outstanding employees. We want them to be outstanding role models and to have successful lives. A positive educational experience at Richard Rose Central Academy will help all of our students to become a success in the future.

Students are given base line assessments before any intervention so as to highlight key areas of focus, they are then tested throughout and again at the end of an intervention stretch.
Students are given end of term assessments in all subjects. All of this will contribute to identifying a student’s progress against their targets / goals. This information will be shared with the student and parents. At this point the SEN team, parent and student will identify how to move forward together in order to achieve the best possible progress.
