Carlisle Mencap

We are locally managed and funded, not a branch of the national organisation although we do work closely with them on many of our projects. We are a membership organisation and have over 150 members made up of people with learning disabilities, carers and other interested parties. We provide services and support for more than 500 adults and children with learning disabilities and their families across Cumbria. We do receive funding from Cumbria County Council, including for our Cumbria Autism Family Support Project.

We believe everyone with a learning disability has an equal right to choice, opportunity and respect, with the support they need.

We are a forward thinking organisation with a dedicated team who will always be happy to help you and your family.

We have many existing services and can offer support for people of any age with a learning disability. We provide person centred support to all of our clients and support people with all different types disabilities.
