Flookburgh CE School Nursery Class
Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right; strong parent partnerships, coupled with high-quality early-learning, provides the foundation children need to fulfil their potential and equip them with the skills they will need as they grow into adulthood.
At Flookburgh C.E. Primary School we provide Early Years Education for children aged 3-4 years in our Nursery Class. We also offer ‘Stay and Play’ sessions for children aged 2-3 years; please contact the school office for further details.
Nursery is often a child’s first experience if time away from family; we provide a warm, friendly and welcoming environment in which children can thrive, whilst also ensuring that they feel like it is just an extension to home life – we are very much about providing and embracing a community feel within our Nursery and throughout school.
Children are able to begin their Nursery journey with us during the term after their third birthday however, we also offer ‘paid-for’ ‘Rising 3’s’ places to children in the term prior to their third birthday – if you are interested in our ‘Rising 3’s’ offer, please contact the school office for more details.

At Flookburgh School we really believe we have something truly special and unique to offer every child. We want every child’s experience of our school to be filled with fun and exciting memories whilst also building a life-long love of learning, confidence and a huge sense of curiosity to discover more.
We are able to provide all of this through our dedicated teacher-led Nursery Staff; highly qualified support staff and a strong partnership with external agencies to support all children, whatever their specific needs may be.
Our extensive grounds, including woodland and allotment, ensure that all of our children have room to develop enquiring minds in a safe, outdoor, environment. Our provision allows for our children to access a rich variety of space, both inside and out, which enables them to thrive, build independence and to ‘have-a-go’.
