Askam Village School Nursery Class
Askam School Nursery is part of Askam Village School and is the first stage in our early years unit which consists of Nursery and Reception class (Foundation Stage Unit). Nursery and Reception age classes are part of the Foundation Stage. They share the same ‘goals’ and plan their work co-operatively to enable smooth and supported transition to full time education.
Mrs Wright is the Nursery Teacher and Mrs Hopkins is the Senior Teaching Assistant within the Nursery setting. We have a very organised and structured approach to teaching and learning throughout the Early Years Unit and the Nursery is finely tuned to enable the children to get the most out of their early educational experiences and prepare them for the rest of the Foundation Stage in Reception class.
We place high regard and emphasis on Early Years teaching and learning and regard the early formative years as a crucial time in child's educational development.
We hope that parents will also take the same view and approach this key period of a child's learning with enthusiasm and support.
