Blackford CofE Primary School
Blackford CE Primary is a small, rural primary school just to the north of Carlisle. We offer education from Nursery up to Year 6 (3-11 years old). Ofsted (2018) said:
“Pupils’ positive attitudes towards learning contribute to the strong progress that they make.”
We want to continue developing our work so that every child in our care receives an education which equips them with the full range of key skills and develops them as healthy, contributing members of local, national and global societies.
Whenever possible, subjects are joined together in topics to develop links in knowledge and understanding across the curriculum. Use of off-site visits and visitors to the school are encouraged to help develop broad-based learning, create interest and engagement for the children.
As the parent or carer of a child at our school, you too are a member of our school community and should expect to be included in and informed about the full life of the school. In return we would ask that you commit to working with us to support your child and every child in our school so that they take all the opportunities offered and achieve their full potential.
