Storth CofE School

The school is situated centrally in Storth village, and has a hard play area, grassed playing field outdoor classroom area, a wildlife garden, a sensory garden and raised beds used by the gardening club to grow fruit and vegetables. The building dates from 1962 with an infant extension built in 1975 and additional rooms (library, withdrawal rooms and a conservatory) built in 2005 offering disabled facilities and access. The school is very well equipped with educational materials, books, audio-visual aids, computing equipment, furniture and fittings. The number on role at present is 43 with Nursery provision and an after school and breakfast club.
We at Storth CE Primary School seek to help children achieve their full potential by encouraging a love of learning through personalised teaching. Acceptance of all, self-belief and resilience are developed through our enriched and stimulating curriculum which is delivered in a happy and caring environment.
The school is a CE (Controlled) Primary School, with a strong link to our local church, although all children are very welcome and religious education is non-denominational. As a Church school we aim to develop Christian values in a gently spiritual manner that allows children to ask questions and explore issues of faith with confidence.

- Description
Children who are not making adequate progress are identified as having special educational needs. Class teachers consult with the SENCo when the evidence gathered through the usual assessment and monitoring arrangements gives concern about a child’s progress.
Teachers take into account in their planning a child’s special educational needs and the provision made therefore enables them to participate effectively in all curriculum and assessment activities, in addition to broader aspects of school life.
