St Bernard's Catholic High School

St Bernard’s Catholic High School is a popular and successful school where staff and pupils work together to create a vibrant and caring community. We are a school based firmly on Gospel values of love and service and these are evident in the commitment we have to provide outstanding education and care for each young person entrusted to us.
Our dedicated, enthusiastic and talented staff ensure that each child in their care has the best possible opportunities to succeed both academically and in the wide range of extra-curricular activities that St Bernard’s has to offer. Our school buildings are bright and welcoming and boast the latest resources to support learning and teaching at the highest level.
We are a school firmly rooted in our community which stretches beyond our walls to our Catholic primary schools and parishes with whom we work closely so as to fulfil our Mission for Catholic education in the Furness area.
The motto of the school “to Work is to Pray” is seen on a daily basis in all that we do.
St Bernard’s Catholic High School is a Catholic community based on the gospel values of love and respect. We aim to provide the children of the Furness area a supportive and caring community in which all can grow in confidence; spiritually and academically to fulfil their true potential, strong in their belief in Christ, fully prepared for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences that await them.
To achieve these aims the school will:
- Provide a positive, caring learning environment
- Support pupils in discovering their strengths and achieving their potential
- Provide a varied and balanced curriculum where pupils are given opportunities to develop both inside and outside the classroom.
