Roose Community Primary School

Welcome to Roose Community Primary School. We have approximately 170 children on roll, in seven classes from Reception to year 6. Our school is housed in a Victorian building, with a large playground and extensive playing fields at the rear. There is also a nursery within the school building. Our team of experienced staff deliver a rich, broad and balanced curriculum covering the requirements of the National Curriculum and more. We aim to raise attainment through carefully planned programmes of work matched to individual needs, delivered in a stimulating learning environment.

We have challenging and realistic expectations that reflect our whole school commitment to high standards of achievement, behaviour and well-being — ensuring that Roose is a school where every child and every adult matters. We are a community that embraces life-long learning. We firmly believe in developing a strong partnership between home and school for the benefit of all our children. Prospective parents are welcome to look around the school and talk to the head teacher before applying for their child to be admitted. Please telephone the school to make an appointment.

Local Offer

The class teacher will have overall responsibility for the planning and teaching of the curriculum for all children which is monitored by senior leaders throughout the School. Should your child require additional support they may be included in a focus group. This may be run by the class teacher, a teaching assistant or the SENCO and this will take place within the classroom wherever possible. Sometimes it may be necessary for your child to work out of the classroom in a quiet area close by.
