Early Positive Approaches to Support Training (E-PAtS)

There is a fantastic opportunity for a parents/carers of children with additional needs to become a paid facilitator for the E-PAtS Programme 

We are looking for a parent /carer to be able to share their experience with other families. 

This position is paid on a sessional basis. 

E-PAtS is a 8 week group sessions that provides sensitive support and information for families in the early years of bringing up a child with an additional need. A trained family caregiver and professional, facilitate all groups and cover:

  • Accessing services and supports
  • Emotional wellbeing and resilience for caregivers
  • Supporting sleep for children
  • Supporting communication
  • Supporting skills development
  • Positive approaches to behaviours that challenge

You will need to attend all the below proposed training dates to become an approved trainer which will be paid in attendance. This training will be delivered virtually.

Days 1-3 will be for both groups combined, delivered over 6 half day sessions online:
Friday 9th April (09.30-12.30) (Theory)
Monday 12th April (09.30-12.30) (Theory)Friday 16th April (09.30-12.30) (Theory)

Monday 19th April (09.30-12.30) (Theory)
Friday 23rd April (09.30-12.30) (Overview of content)
Monday 26th April (09.30-12.30 (Overview of content)
Day 4-5 will be delivered for two groups (with 3 half day sessions scheduled in the first instance). Please not you only need to be available for the dates in group 1 or 2.

Group 1:
Friday 30th April 09.30-12.30 (Practice)
Friday 7th May (09.30-12.30) (Practice)
Friday 14th May (Practice and Assessment)

Group 2:
Monday 10th May (09.30-12.30) (Practice)
Monday 17th May (09.30-12.30) (Practice)
Monday 24th May (Practice and Assessment)
