Moresby Primary School

At Moresby Primary School, our family atmosphere provides a safe and secure environment, in which we nurture happy and confident children who collaborate with each other in order to fulfil their academic and social potential. We help every child discover their individuality, while helping them to acknowledge and understand difference in others. We inspire wonder and interest in our children by enabling them to explore the world through a broad range of opportunities in and outside of the classroom, and develop their ambition by celebrating their achievements together. We strive for excellence in everything we do and, with the help of our values-based teaching, aim for every one of our children to grow into decent young people during their time with us. Our children make the greatest possible progress across the curriculum, and are well prepared for their continuing learning journey.

Local Offer

Description

At Moresby we welcome children of all abilities. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all children, which is differentiated to meet different needs and abilities. Disabled access has been included at the entrance to the School Hall and we now have a new disabled toilet.

Throughout their time at school children may develop special needs that requires an individual Education Plan (IEP) to aid learning. Upon identifying such a need, school will contact parents and together a plan for meeting the child’s needs is drawn up. Initially, teachers need to use strategies within the lessons to compensate for the special educational need. Should specialist input be required, the school will request this after discussion with parents. Where a child’s needs cause further concern a Statement of Special Educational Needs will be applied for. This provides extra resources to aid the child’s learning.
