Longtown Primary School

Longtown Primary School is a busy and thriving place. It is still new in many ways, following the amalgamation, in 2002, of Longtown Infant and Junior Schools. It still has a huge ambition to progress, by listening to what people want from the school, and committing ourselves to develop and improve in every way. With the recent closure of Lochinvar Secondary School and in view of the proposals from the Longtown Moving forward Initiative, Longtown Primary School looks set to occupy a place at the heart of our community for many years to come.

Schools are not factories filling children with education – they are living communities of people who share some time on a longer journey. By listening to and understanding each other, by trying to work together at every opportunity, by striving to live up to what we promise, we can make the school a place of security, fun and achievement for all.
