Sedbergh Primary School Nursery Class

Miss Healey is the class teacher and we have Mrs Swallow to support the class. We are always busy in Nursery and we have lots of fun. Please look at our class pages to see what we have been up to!
In Nursery we use the Early Years curriculum called Development Matters. We use this to as the base for our provision and teaching to meet the children’s individual needs and to provide progression in their learning. The EYFS is made up of seven areas of learning and development of which three are “prime areas,” and four “specific areas.” The prime areas are:
- Communication and language.
- Physical development.
- Personal, social and emotional development.
The specific areas are:
- Literacy.
- Mathematics.
- Understanding of the world.
- Expressive arts and design.
For more information about the curriculum in Nursery, please refer to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) tab in the Curriculum area.

Local Offer
- Description
Children may have special educational needs throughout, or at any time during their school career. The special educational need may be in one or more areas of the curriculum. Teachers take into account in their planning a child’s special educational needs and the provision made therefore enables them to participate effectively in all curriculum and assessment activities, in addition to broader aspects of school life.
Please find our Local offer in the Parents/carers section of our website.
