St Paul's CofE Junior School
St Paul’s is a Church of England Junior School situated in the parish of St Paul’s Church on the northeast outskirts of Barrow-in-Furness. Children attend from all over the area as the school has no specific catchment area. Although our school is linked closely with St Paul’s Church on Abbey Road, places are available to any children whose parents wish them to benefit from a Christian education.
Our spacious classrooms are carpeted to provide a comfortable working area and all have an interactive whiteboard. We have additional rooms for specific learning activities, for example our Mouse House allows whole class Computer Studies teaching to take place with laptops for each pupil. The Chill Out room provides a space for individual and small group tuition. Our resources areas provide ample space for cooking and technology activities.
St Paul’s is set on a large grassy site with its own woodland, large playground, Playdale equipment and quiet area with an outdoor classroom. We also have an abundance of flower beds and a well-stocked greenhouse which the pupils help to maintain. Every opportunity is taken to enhance our pupil’s learning through the use of all of these areas.

St Paul's Church of England Junior School provides a broad and balanced curriculum for all children. The National Curriculum is our starting point for planning that meets the specific needs of individuals and groups of children. When planning, teachers set suitable learning challenges and respond to children’s diverse learning needs. A minority of children have particular learning and assessment requirements that could create barriers to learning.
