Yewdale Primary School

At Yewdale Primary School we appreciate that a child's education does not start and finish as they enter and leave our school each day and we very much look forward to working together in partnership with you, for the benefit of your child. Parents are warmly welcome in school. They are encouraged to openly discuss any concerns and to play an active part in the life of the school. In partnership, we aim to develop the potential of every individual.
We feel that, using our professional experience and expertise, we can together enable all children to achieve to the best of their ability. All the staff have high expectations of the children in terms of their behaviour and their work and this is within a caring school environment where each child feels safe and secure.
We have developed a framework where we foster caring attitudes, considering and appreciating others. Time is spent developing self-esteem, self discipline and discipline with the child remaining at the centre of all teaching and learning.
We consider our school to be a team which includes governors, staff, parents, children and the local community. If you have not yet had the opportunity to visit, we hope that you will accept our invitation to come and see for yourself the wide and varied learning opportunities which we offer.

Local Offer
- Description
In July 2014, the Department of Education issued the special educational need and disabilities (SEND) Code of Practice 2014. The new code came into force on 1 September 2014. Under the new Code children with complex SEN will be given an EHC plan (Education Healthcare plan), and the support outlined in these plans will be provided in collaboration with the Local Authority. It will be school’s responsibility to provide for all other children with additional needs.
It is then a schools responsibility to therefore provide clear, comprehensive and accessible information about the provision available and how to access it through the publication of their Local Offer. At Yewdale School we endeavour to ensure that all our children are supported to achieve their very best whatever their ability. This Local Offer sets out the provision available in Yewdale Primary School for children who have SEND.
