South Walney Infant & Nursery School Nursery Class

South Walney Infant and Nursery School is a mixed school and ages range from 3 to 7. We have one yearly intake of children to the school in September and three termly intakes into Nursery. However, you have the right to defer your child's admission to school to the beginning of the term following your child's 5th birthday if you so wish.
Most children transfer at 7 to South Walney Junior School. At that time, separate arrangements are necessary for enrolment. We maintain close links with South Walney Junior School. In the Summer term, Year 2 children undertake a series of visits to meet with their new teachers and become familiar with the Junior School. Parents will be able to visit and attend a meeting for new starters.
Our school is a safe, welcoming and happy place where everyone is valued and respected. We will challenge and nurture our children to become confident lifelong learners through an exciting and inspiring curriculum.

- Description
Children with statements of special educational needs will receive their entitlement to the support specified in their statement and individual education plan. These are reviewed termly.
Our aim is that given support, children will be able to work alongside their friends with confidence, making the best progress they possibly can and then gradually take on more and more responsibility for their own learning while continuing to make progress.
