Learning safely with return to face to face courses
Up to one in three people who have COVID-19 can spread the virus without knowing. This is because they have no symptoms. To reduce the spread of the virus, we need to identify those individuals.
As we return to face to face teaching again, Community Learning and Skills are taking part in the governments scheme to offer home testing kits for staff and learners. This is one of the ways we are working to ensure our classrooms are safe for you and our staff now and in the future months.
Taking part in testing is voluntary and all learners will be able to attend classes whether they take part in testing or not. However, we are strongly encouraging everyone to take part in the national testing programme.
Your local Centre Manager or Tutor will be in touch before your first lesson to give you the testing kits and explain how to record your result.
The Government has recently announced that all students in secondary schools and colleges will be offered regular asymptomatic COVID-19 tests to take at home. All students in secondary schools and colleges will be offered tests to take at home twice a week, so that we can reduce the spread of the virus.
