Leven Valley CE Primary School
Leven Valley School is beautifully situated at the foot of Haverthwaite Heights, between the old railway track and the River Leven. Close to the Whitewater Hotel which was previously the `Dolly Blue Works’, it is part of a small community which has an interesting historical and geographical background. The school itself stands in spacious grounds against woodlands and natural countryside, which is a source of enrichment for many curriculum activities throughout the year.
The children come from a wide catchment area and may travel into school by taxi, coach or car; there is a strong family feeling within the school and the children enjoy a happy, secure environment in which they are valued as individuals.
The school is a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School for boys and girls from 4 to 11 years. The school’s catchment area encompasses the parishes of Colton, Finsthwaite, Field Broughton, Staveley-in-Cartmel, Haverthwaite, Satterthwaite, Rusland, and Cartmel Fell.
