West Cumbria Society for the Blind
From our Resource Centre in Whitehaven town centre, clients and carers can access support, view specialist equipment on a daily basis and maintain it, without the need for appointments.
Also we prepare our timetable for maintaining our regular home visiting service for clients who are housebound, and maintaining regular telephone contact with those clients who are not housebound.
We also provide the opportunity for clients to produce their own newsletter, and continue referrals with statutory and other agencies to ensure clients' access to eligible support.
We provide an ongoing programme of outings and activities to give clients interests to look forward to. We also investigate new developments to prevent or slow down sight loss and assess new equipment to help cope with sight loss.
We continue to carry out ongoing client evaluations and assessment of new clients and give support and training to staff and volunteers.
