Young People First: Access All Areas
I am from a project that supports young people with learning difficulties to access lots of clubs and activities in their local areas. We work with young people aged 10-18 who can have a range of learning difficulties.
Our aim is to show them what is available to them, learn some new skills, get more confidence and help with inclusion by meeting new people (staff and other members alike) and seeing facilities etc. We hope that by accessing activities with us, they will feel more confident to access them independently in the future. Advocacy is at the heart of our organisation so we hope to support young people with learning difficulties to express themselves - be able to speak up for themselves and what they believe in, be able to make suggestions to help services become more accessible.
